300th Action store in Poland
In the city of Elblag, Action opened its 300th store in Poland on October 26. Action, the fastest-growing non-food discounter in Europe, opened its first store in Poland in 2017 in Leszno.
Since then, Poles have been able to enjoy Action’s unique formula: 6,000 good quality products in 14 product categories (from toys and handicrafts to household, gardening, DIY and food items) at the lowest possible price. Action offers a surprising assortment with 150 new products on the shelves every week. More than 1,500 products are priced at less than 1 euro. The average price of all products is less than 2 euros.
Circularity
Additionally, Action wants to make sustainable products accessible to everyone. As a leading discount retailer, Actions feels responsible for continuously improving its products, supply chain, and CO2 emission. Products are improved by reducing their carbon footprint and increasing their circularity. Already 90% of Action’s wooden products and 92% of cotton products are sourced more sustainably. Action expects to achieve its goal of 100% sustainable sourcing of these materials as soon as 2024.
Action’s 300th Polish store not only highlights the fast growth of Action in the country but also underlines the company’s strengthened expansion in the Northern regions of Poland.
“We are very proud to open today our 300th store. This opening is not only a milestone in Action’s development across the country, but it marks our will to expand more in the Northern part of Poland. We indeed want to reach more customers in this area” comments Slawomir Nitek, General Manager of Action in Poland.
“Thanks to its unique business model, Action is an exceptional retailer that proves that it can steadily grow and prosper in such a demanding and competitive market as Poland. We will continue to expand in Poland and to offer an exceptional shopping experience to our customers, whether they live in large cities or smaller towns” says Nitek.
Attractive employer
Plans for growth and expansion in Poland mean creating more local jobs. “Since opening our first store in Poland in 2017, we have hired more than 4,000 employees. We will continue to expand our team, as we want to strengthen our store teams as well as our teams in our head office and in our 3 distribution centers. Action offers its employees a flexible and friendly work environment.”
For Poland, Action plans to maintain annual employment growth of around 1,000 employees. By opening each new store, Action provides a dozen new jobs.
