Action opens its 3rd store in Paris
Action, the non-food discount retailer, opens its 3rd Parisian store, today to meet growing demand. This latest opening brings the total number of Action stores in France to 807.
Starting today, residents of Paris’ 15th arrondissement and its surroundings can enjoy a selection of 6,000 good quality products in 14 product categories (ranging from toys and crafts to household products, and from gardening to DIY and food) at the lowest price. Action introduces 150 new products every week, ensuring a relevant assortment that caters to various needs and preferences. Action offers 1,500 items for less than €1. More than two-thirds of all products cost less than €2.
The brand already has 2 stores in Paris, situated in Paris’ 19th arrondissement. In the past years, Action has grown its footprint in Ile-de France, following its customers’ requests. Action grew its stores in the region by 141% between 2017 and 2023, reaching 94 stores in Ile-de-France end of 2023.
“We’re delighted to open our 3rd store in Paris. We can now offer our unique shopping experience to more Parisian customers” explains Wouter De Backer, General Manager of Action in France. “Our success remains in the commitment and loyalty of our teams, which we are very proud of. I want to thank everyone who contributed to such an achievement: our employees, our customers, and our suppliers.”
Additionally, Action wants to make sustainable products accessible to everyone. As the “Favorite Retailer of the French” for the 2nd year[1] and a leading discount retailer, Action feels responsible for continuously improving its products, supply chain, and CO2 emissions. Products are improved by reducing their carbon footprint and increasing their circularity. Already, 100% of Action’s cotton products and 94% of Action’s wooden products are sourced sustainably. Action expects to achieve its goal of 100% sustainable sourcing for wooden products by the end of 2024.
In absolute terms, Action has reduced CO2 emissions from its own operations (scope 1 and scope 2) by 46% compared to the 2021 base year. Action remains on track to meet its scope 1 and 2 CO2 emission reduction target of 60% by 2030. Additionally, for many products quality and sustainability improved further. Striking examples include the Zenova Sensitive Sunmilk. The sunscreen is micro-plastics free, vegan, and coral reef friendly, according to international standards[2]. Zenova comes in bottles and tubes made of at least 50% recycled plastic.
Spacious and easily accessible, the new store measures 800 square meters. Action hired a team of 65 to manage the store. It is located at 81 rue de Lourmel, 75015 Paris. The store is open from 08:30 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Saturday.
