Our Distribution Centres

As the number of our stores continues to grow, we are investing in additional distribution centres (DCs) in central locations. Currently we supply the stores multiple times a week via our DCs in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Slovakia and Poland. Next to our products it is also very important to us that our DCs are as sustainable as possible.

All new distribution centres are fitted with LED lights in the warehouse, offices and outside areas. We always check whether it is possible to use renewable energy sources to operate our DCs. For instance, the DC in Echt, the Netherlands, is equipped with more than 6,500 solar panels. These provide 50% of its total energy consumption. Also, the newly installed solar panels on the roof of our DC in Zwaagdijk will deliver 85% of its energy needs in the future. Other Action DCs also use solar panels to produce energy for their own consumption or the power network of the city.

Our DCs match BREEAM standards

Since 2019, we build our DCs in alignment with BREEAM standards. BREEAM is used in more than 80 countries to assess the sustainability of buildings. From the materials used to the construction methods to the equipment installed, everything at the DC in Bierún has been designed to be as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible.
