Action opens first permanent distribution center in Italy
· Action’s 17h DC in Europe measures 57000 square meters and will be able to supply up to 270 stores in Italy.
· In the long run, the DC will create around 300 jobs in the region.
· It operates gas-free, based on the latest technological construction requirements
Novara, 12 February, 2026 – Action, the non-food discounter, opens its first permanent distribution center (DC) in Italy today, located in Novara, in Piemonte. With this 17th distribution center in Europe, Action continues to invest in the development of its supply chain in Italy. Since opening its first stores in Italy on 22 April 2021, in Vanzaghello and Turin, Action has 213 stores in Italy today, while employing almost 5000 people.
“We are very happy to open our first Action owned distribution centre in Novara, almost five years after introducing our first store in Italy. Customers have welcomed us warmly, and we are happy that we can bring the Action formula closer to them” explains Philippe Levisse, General Manager of Action in Italy. “Our success is built on our strong formula and the commitment and engagement of our teams, which we are very proud of.”
A sustainable DC
Gas-free distribution center Novara is built at the internationally recognized BREEAM ‘Excellent’ level and has submitted this level of sustainability rating. The DC reflects Action’s strong commitment to sustainable building practices, combining high environmental performance with efficient and functional design. Energy-efficient solutions include solar panels for heating water, PV-panels for electricity generation, intelligent energy and water meters, LED lighting in the building and outside areas, and charging stations for electric cars.

Every aspect of the facility, from construction materials to installed equipment, has been sustainable designed for ecological and environmentally friendly operations.”

At this DC in Novara, Action partners with FIEGE as its logistics service provider with approximately 280 Fiege employees in the long run.
