Action opens 50th store in the Slovak Republic in the city of Košice

• Action opens its 50th store – just 3 years after its first store opening
• The new store in Kosice measures 796 square metres and hires 22 employees

Bratislava, 28 May 2026 – Action, the non-food discount retailer, opens its 50th store in the Slovak Republic in the town Kosice, just a little over 3 years after the first store opening in Bratislava.

Nowadays, Action welcomes more than 22 million customers every week in more than 3,300 stores in 15 European countries where they enjoy a surprising range of 6,000 good quality and increasingly sustainable products in 14 product categories offering everyday necessities and products that make life easier or more enjoyable – always at the lowest price. Every week Action introduces 150 new products to keep the range relevant. More than two-thirds of all products sold cost less than 2 Euro.

Action is continuously investing in product quality and sustainability. Action’s mid-term science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets are approved by SBTi. Action also maintains clear supplier and sourcing standards. Products are improved by reducing their carbon footprint and increasing their circularity. Examples include all Action-branded and white-label cotton products, that are sustainably sourced – 99% under the Better Cotton programme with the remaining 1% sourced as organic cotton. 100% of the timber used in our products came from sustainably managed forests, either under the FSC® or PEFC. All cocoa used in Action-brand products has been Fairtrade since 2022.

Spacious and easily accessible, the new store is based at Pri Pracharni 4 in Košice and measures 796  square metres. The store provides work to a team of 22 colleagues. The store is open from today onwards, from 9.00 am to 20.00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
