Action celebrates the opening of its 250th store in Italy, in the city of Bari

•  The 250th store is the fifth store to open in the province of Bari, is the second Action store in the city.
•  The new Bari store covers an area of 1038 square meters and employs 19 new colleagues.
  

Milan, 19 September, 2026 – the non-food discounter, is opening the 250th store in Italy today, in the city of Bari, its fifth in the province and the thirteenth in the Puglia region.

From today onwards, residents of Bari and the surrounding areas will be able to enjoy the Action Formula: a selection of 6,000 good quality and increasingly sustainable products across 14 different categories (ranging from Laundry & Cleaning and Personal Care to Toys & Entertainment, Do-It-Yourself or Garden & Outdoor) at the lowest price. Action introduces 150 new products every week, ensuring a relevant assortment that meets diverse needs and preferences. More than two-thirds of all products sold are prices below 2 euros.

6,000th Italian Action employee

At the new Action store in Bari, Action also welcomes its 6,000th Italian employee. Action continuously invests in product quality and sustainability, applying strict supplier and sourcing standards through its Ethical Sourcing Policy. All Action’s private and white label products use >99% certified sustainably sourced cotton, timber and cocoa. The palm oil in Action’s own food & drink products and candles is 100% certified sustainable. In 2025, Action’s near-term science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). All Action stores are heated without gas and all stores, offices and distribution centres use 100% LED lighting.

With more than 3,500 stores across Europe, Action employs approximately 84,000 colleagues of 166 nationalities – as diverse as the communities in which we operate. The company created more than 4,500 new jobs in 2025 and invests in development opportunities like training and promotion. The new Action store in Bari covers an area of 1038 square meters, is spacious and is easily accessible. The store is located at Via Pacifico Mazzoni in Bari , has 19 new employees and is open from Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 21:30.
