Action opens its first distribution center in Spain, in Illescas, in the province of Toledo
- The DC measures 58,820 square meters and will be able to supply up to 210 stores in both Spain and Portugal.
- In the long run, the DC will create around 440 jobs in the region.
- It is Action’s 16th distribution centre in Europe and the first one to operate gas-free, based on the latest technological construction requirements with BREEAM Outstanding – the leading international certification for sustainable building constructions.
Illescas, June 12, 2025 – Action, the non-food discounter, opens its first distribution centre (DC) in Spain today, located in Illescas in the province of Toledo. With this 16th distribution centre in Europe, Action develops its supply chain in both Spain and Portugal. Since opening its first store in Spain at the end of 2022 Action continues to invest in development of the supply chain. Today, Action has 74 stores in Spain employing more than 1400 people.
“We are very happy to open our first distribution centre in Illescas, almost three years after introducing our first store in Spain. A sustainable DC
The distribution centre in Illescas sets the standard for Action’s next distribution centres in terms of sustainability. It is Action’s first gas-free distribution centre, built to the highest technological and environmental standards with the leading international BREEAM Outstanding certification for sustainable building constructions. Energy-efficient solutions include solar panels for heating water, PV-panels for electricity generation, intelligent energy and water meters, LED lighting in the building and outside areas, and charging stations for electric cars.
